Bio

Peter Holland came to writing after 30 years of teaching and completion of his MA in history (1500-1800). Inspired by little-known stories from the period, he wrote four novels of historical fiction in as many years, Barbary Slave (2018), 1656 (2019), Susan Bounty (2020), Benjamin Squirrell and the Hadleigh Workhouse (2021), subsequently converting them to screenplays.

In recent years writing screenplays has been his main focus, turning Falling Soldiers by Neil Davies into a six-part TV series, as well as writing an original screenplay about a world-famous dare devil.

2024 was dominated by Holland working with Elizabeth Wilde McCormick, a successful and respected psychotherapist. Together they have turned her powerful trilogy of novels about a psychotherapist into Unlived Lives, a nine-part TV series.

Further collaborations are planned for 2025.
